Informal Education & Outreach
Performing lab- and field-based research requires knowledge of the organismal systems we study, and where they come from. It is also critical that science is disseminated not just to the scientific communities, but to the public sector as well. My collaborative research in various countries is not possible without the help of local communities. Part of my research program also involves engaging with these communities to provide information and education on the biodiversity that is found nearby, and what science is being done both within and outside of the country to help maintain this biodiversity. This outreach involves informal lectures and hands-on demonstrations. Click on the photographs below to find out about some of the specific education I have done!
